Think back. Back to the days of kindergarten, where your teachers tried their hardest to mold your mind. They want to create model citizens for the future. Miss Brown wants to say in twenty years I molded the mind of Dr. Blake or that outstanding lawyer was my student. Your parents tell you ‘you can be whatever you want to be.’ But yet we are pushed to be lawyers, doctors and politicians. It’s no secret that certain professions rake in more mula than others. Or do they? I’ve come to realise that what were top tier professions back in the day are rivaled by new up and coming jobs. So now in a typical kindergarten class when the teacher asks what do you want to be to little Robyn? She can say a loved lifestyleblogger or simply put, an entrepreneur.
There is nothing wrong with setting your sights on becoming a world renowned orthopedic surgeon, as long it’s your passion to mend broken bones. Then honey go live your dream. I just hope you’re the one dreaming and not mommy and daddy. At the end of the day you will be the one up until four studying for your skeletal spot test, not your parents. If you are perusing a job pushed upon you by anyone else you will resent it. You know that saying, find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life. Yeah, it came from some one who is really following their dream.
I urge you to do this, sit down one day and evaluate yourself. Think about what makes you happy and how you can make a living from it. Our world has changed so much that almost anything now a days can be turned into a career. If you end up with many job choices, list out all the pros and cons and see if it’s really worth it. I have worked jobs where I hated every minute of it and it affected my performance and my emotional health. Yes at the end of the day I got paid but can you really put a price tag on your happiness? I didn’t. Deep down I knew there was no future in that field for me.
So maybe you’re already invested in a job or you think your too old for your dream job so you think this post won’t help. Wrong! Who said you’re too old or to deep to dream? There is no age limit to your happiness. You can be what ever you want to be, whenever you want to be it. The only thing that may stop you is the law. There are TV stars as young as six months old and great influencers living it up in their eighty’s. Okay so you already have a job and you may not think perusing a dream is a good idea so you would never just up and quit. Great, don’t. But could you possibly dream on the weekends? Your dream job could be part time or your ambitions can be weekend adventures. I know surgeons who’s Mon-Frid’ are filled with patients but on the weekends it’s deep sea diving and waterfall climbing then back in office on Monday and he is well into his sixties.
We get so caught up trying to survive and not live that we forget sometimes we need to dream.
Thank you for stopping by #LeveridgedLives =}. No dream is too big or small as long as you are happy!
