Couture week is over and the greatness has simmered down. Throughout a few shows over the years we saw themes repeated across runways and this season was no different. There weren’t any out right blatant duplication of pieces, just similarity in textures and embellishments. I don’t know who had the idea first, was it the chicken or the egg? We don’t care we just feast and that we did with these runway collections. Congrats to each house on spectacular shows, some were built on love and friendship such as Jean Paul Gaultier collection for his dear friend and Parisian fashion icon Edwige Belmore who past away last September . Whatever the inspiration, the delivery was stunning. Show after show had me drooling. I loved the mix of models on the runway, young models have something to look forward to no matter what race they are. Congrats to our few Jamaican models that graced some major catwalks such as Tami Williams who walked in the Christian Dior, Chanel and Maison Valentino Couture shows and Brad Allen in Givenchy. Couture week is over and models and designers are resting, bloggers have gone back to “how to style…” Until next time au revoir mon amour, we shall meet at the next couture week.
